This small project was started on a non profit basis in November 2003. A group of Dutch ladies had the initiative to support 8 Namibian women by teaching them to sew anthroposophical dolls. By assisting them to produce dolls, they could start making a living of their own, support their families and even put their children through their schooling careers. After all these years, the members are still going strong!
Beginning
Working from a members home in Okuryangava (an informal settlement in katutura, Windhoek) the group members were taught step by step to produce beautiful dolls for all ages. Without electricity, the ladies have handdriven sewing machines, which gives a truly new meaning to the label; Handmade in Namibia!
